Franklin Strait

23/08/24 - 8:45 UTC-5 Position 71°09N - 97°21W - Under engine Yesterday morning we departed under snow to cross Victoria Strait, encountering well-fragmented ice at 1/10 with some beautiful bands—the perfect chance to spot a fine polar bear on its ice floe!

After a few hours of sail-engine, we found open water under sail all night. A few drifting ice floes forced us to slow down during the 2 hours of darkness and turn on our bow spotlight. We should arrive tonight at the entrance to Bellot and wait for the right tide to pass.
