En attendant les Waiting for the Trade Winds

Nous passons We spend 4 days moored at the small port of Caleta del Sebo on the island of Graciosa where life is good. Walks, beach, DIY, and encounters fill our days.

Au sommet! (2At the summit! (266 meters...) The trade winds still seem to avoid us, and on Saturday, October 30, we decide to extend our stopover in the Canary Islands on the island of Tenerife, 160 miles to the west. This downwind sailing under the sun is very pleasant, especially after the last upwind miles we had in memory. Life on board is more enjoyable: swimming, salt dough, baking, acrobatics...

Charlotte poiCharlotte pears/chocolate Salt dough We arrive 36 hours later at the port of Santa Cruz. We are moored right in the center of the most populous city in the Canary Islands, which is a change from the family atmosphere of the previous stopover. Nevertheless, it allows us to easily stock up on fresh produce and various purchases, as well as do the laundry!!!

Nous prévoyonWe plan to depart for Cape Verde tomorrow, Friday. The trade winds seem to be on schedule, even though 36 hours of upwind sailing will be necessary to move away from the center of a depression currently stationary over the Canary Islands. See you soon, friends!
