After a busy French summer between work, family, and friends, we
are back in Puerto Williams, Chile, where Libertaire has spent
l'hiver. Nous reprenons vite nos marques et Nina et Diane sont
heureuses de retrouver leurs couchettes et jouets. Aucune mauvaise
surprise on board where everything restarted without any issues. Nina, 3 years old, started
her school year at the village school, allowing her to
enjoy school activities while we prepare Libertaire
for future voyages. Diane, for whom there was no more space at
the daycare, "helps" us prepare homemade preserves
that will be useful for balanced meals during our three
months of self-sufficiency in Antarctica. The temperatures are still chilly
and negative at night with regular snowfalls that make
the girls happy, snowmen have replaced sandcastles
sables! Le mois de septembre est festif au Chili avec de nombreux
public holidays and celebrations that are opportunities for encounters
with Chileans. We leave for Ushuaia tomorrow to retrieve
our permit for the Falkland Islands (or Malvinas) from the
Argentine authorities for a British territory....a vast sensitive subject!
Indeed, we need to retrieve equipment that arrived by cargo in Port
Stanley and also explore these magnificent islands! We plan to stay there
rester un mois avant de rentrer sur la Patagonie...
As before, due to connection difficulties here, the photos are on our Facebook page.
