We made the most of the sunny day with a long walk ashore. The landscape is lunar, rocky, flat. We can see the pack ice taunting us a few miles to the NW!
The ice chart still isn’t inviting—a compact 5/10 pack blocks our passage through Victoria Strait for now, but there are 2 days of southerly winds ahead, which will likely change things.
At least we’ll be in top shape before the final icy leg!
