This Monday, Libertaire sets course for Buenos Aires, after 3 days anchored 10 miles north of Florianopolis at Governador Celso Ramos, a charming fishing village. A brief stop but a decent weather window to head south presents itself and the season is advancing...

After 5 days in the Argentine capital, we're leaving Buenos Aires this morning, heading to Mar del Plata 200 miles south... in the rain! Have a good week everyone!

Effective sailing from September 20 to April 1, 2018.
3730 GPS miles:
- 880 miles circumnavigating the Falklands
- 2600 miles Puerto Williams – Red Rock Ridge – Puerto Williams
- 250 miles around Gordon Island in the Patagonian channels

Falklands: 4 different anchorages, 6 weeks on site

Gordon circumnavigation: 9 different anchorages in 15 days

Some data about our sailing in the Antarctic Peninsula:
28 different anchorages over 90 days averaging about 3 days per anchorage
2600 miles in 92 days, from February 7 to March 9: average of 28 miles per day.
24kg of gas used in 3 months
260 engine hours meaning 780 liters of diesel used for the engine
The stove ran 24/7 except when under engine, the radiators are heated by an exchanger with the engine cooling circuit, consuming 100 liters per month totaling 300 liters of diesel.
We returned with 500 liters of diesel
We had planned 4 good months of food with plenty of margin for contingencies, for example 45kg of bread flour (we made a 1kg loaf every 3 days), 20kg of pasta, 15kg of rice... We returned with 1 good month's worth left...

Back in France we're preparing for next season, to be continued...
