Lofoten Islands

In Bodo we are no longer alone and we meet a friendly Norwegian, a former sailor, who takes us on a tour of Bodo by car with stops at the most beautiful viewpoints and the shopping center for coffee with "waffles" and "brown cheese", strange...

We leave Bodo on May 23 to enjoy the good weather on the island of Landegode, 5 miles northwest. The anchorage at Osholmen and its turquoise waters welcome us, and after some time anchoring Libertaire and tying the stern to the rock, we head to the heights.

On Friday the 24th, we take advantage of a good SW wind to head towards the Lofoten. The island of Vaeroy, our initial goal, was replaced by the island of Moskenes, as the wind was more west than south; Aeolus always has the last word... We arrive at Sorvagen. Unfortunately, the high tides and the large number of fishermen make mooring difficult. In the rain, we anchor at Reine, 3 miles northeast.

The next day the weather remains overcast, and we decide on a long hike to the small port of AA (pronounced O...), the terminus of the E10 road that runs through the Lofoten from northeast to southwest, a charming fishing village with its displays of "Stockfish", the famous dried cod.

A very pleasant dinner with Yann and Pol from the sailboat Sarah, a charming Sarum 28, who are also on their way to Spitzberg, alternating sailing, climbing, and skiing! (http://cruising2summit.blogspot.fr)

Next destination Svolvaer where Perrine's parents will join us for a few days of coastal cruising along the Norwegian coast.
