In the water, finally!

At the end of pontoon B That's it! Friday, June 3rd, Libertaire is back in the water after 18 months of work! The weekends have been busy, as well as the last 15 days of vacation before the launch, spent repainting the hull, deck, antifouling... Thanks to Intership Lorient for the wise advice and more.

A little flashback in pictures of the last few weeks of work.

Installation of a new radar to detect icebergs Sandblasting the keel before painting and reinstalling... A whole weekend won't be too much to perfectly align the keel on the jacks before reinserting the shaft and the two half-cones.

Masking the deck before a new layer of non-slip coating View of the stern and the new reinforced ice propeller. It looks great, doesn't it?

After the launch, reinstalling the sails, back from the sailmaker where they were being serviced. Thanks to Fabien for the help! Thanks again to Fabien for the delivery to Lorient, done the day after the launch.

We've been living aboard for a few days, the weekend was busy with the move. It was no small task to fit everything we had accumulated in the house over 10 months. Thanks to the grandparents for taking care of the girls while we worked!

The girls are gradually settling in on board, Nina is really happy, to the point of not wanting to sleep at night...

Libertaire is now moored in Locmiquelic until the planned departure in mid-October. The to-do list is still long (rigging, optimizing storage, cleaning the diesel tanks, installing a new stove, replacing the flooring damaged during the work, making a dodger...) The full crew We hope to enjoy Southern Brittany and its islands during the "nice" Breton summer weekends before casting off for good...
